2020 Immigration Recruitment Exercise Commences. According to the Nigeria Immigration Service Press release, the NIS 2019/2020 recruitment exercise has been approved to commence immediately.

The shortlisted applicants are to participate in the final screening of credentials.

The notification reads;

NIS 2019/2020 RECRUITMENT EXERCISE
The Civil Defense, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), has approved the commencement of the NIS 2019/2020 recruitment exercise.
2. The Board is informing prospective applicants that sat for the Computer Based Test (CBT) that 6,105 candidates out of 45,323, have been shortlisted to attend the final screening of credentials and physical fitness and will be invited via their emails and SMS from Monday, 10th May 2021. Applicants are advised to check the official website of the NIS: https://immigrationrecruitment.org.ng for their names, exam location, guidelines for the recruitment exercise and print out their invitation slip without which they will not be allowed to participate in the screening exercise.

For complaints and Reports contact nis.servicom@nigeriaimmigration.gov.ng or any Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC) and other Anti-Graft Agencies in Nigeria closest to the applicant. Applicants whose names did not appear on the website should not appear in any of the venues for the screening.

NIS screening Requirements 2025
If you are one of the shortlisted applicants of NIS, you are expected to go along with the following documents for the final physical screening exercises;
- Valid identification e.g International Passport, Voters ID-Card, National ID-card or Drivers License.
- Original of your Birth Certificate or Age Declaration;
- Educational Certificates
- Medical Fitness Certificate
- NYSC discharge/Exemption certificate with Two (2) recent passport photographs.
NIS Duties/ Responsibilities
The Nigeria Immigration Service is responsible for;
- The control of persons entering or leaving Nigeria
- The issuance of travel documents, to bona fide Nigerians in and outside Nigeria
- The issuance of residence permits to foreigners in Nigeria
- Border surveillance and patrol
- Enforcement of laws and regulations with which we have been directly charged.
